When words fall short, I bake — and these coffee meringues are one of those nostalgic treats that instantly transport me back to childhood. Sri Lankans call them kisses (not the chocolate kind), and they’ve always been a staple at celebrations, holidays, and cozy evenings at home.

They’re crisp on the outside, chewy in the center, and infused with rich coffee flavor thanks to Javy’s coffee concentrate. Whether it’s Valentine’s Day, a housewarming, a weekend treat, or just a craving that won’t quit, these little bites always deliver.

Why You’ll Love It

This recipe is more than just easy—it’s a delicious way to turn three pantry ingredients into something elegant and crave-worthy.

  • Bold coffee flavor – Javy’s concentrate adds deep, aromatic richness without overpowering sweetness.
  • Crispy outside, chewy center – That perfect meringue texture everyone dreams of.
  • Quick prep, minimal cleanup – Just 10 minutes of hands‑on time.
  • Gluten‑free & dairy‑free – Great for clean eaters and those with dietary sensitivities.
  • Perfect for gifting – Beautiful in treat boxes, party platters, or holiday tins.

How It’s Made In Three Steps

Step 1
Gather the three major ingredients and preheat oven to 225°F (105°C) and line a baking tray with parchment or foil.

  • Egg whites
  • Granulated sugar
  • Javy coffee concentrate

Step 2
Use a hand mixer or stand mixer to beat the egg whites on medium speed until foamy bubbles form. Increase the speed to medium-high and gradually add the sugar one tablespoon at a time. The mixture will turn glossy and silky as it thickens. Once soft peaks form (see image below), add Javy coffee concentrate and continue beating until stiff peaks hold their shape.

Step 3
Transfer it to a piping bag or spoon onto the tray in neat dollops. Bake for 1 hour, then turn off the oven and let them rest inside for another hour without opening the door. Let them cool fully before enjoying that first crisp‑chewy bite.
